In 1979, Marie Huckins has just entered the dating pool after a recent divorce when she meets Dennis Mitchell. But when she follows her date into the New York wilderness, it proves to be a fatal mistake. Twenty years later, Marie's daughter Patricia is still coping with the tragic loss. As she makes plans to celebrate her 36th birthday, Patricia hopes she can forget about the tragedy for just one night. But soon, a chance encounter at a neighborhood bar brings a change to the night's plans. And it's not long before Patricia finds herself walking into a trap not unlike her own mother's.
