A company called “Podcastier” is sending mail to podcast owners claiming to be a “big fan” of your podcast and to offer to edit your podcasts for half price. They’re just scraping from your RSS feed, and we’d recommend you avoid any company that lazily spams you in this way.

Around 7min mark, says he wants the Podcast Academy to celebrate that “independent” and be included in their board. And yet, there is no true independent on their Board of Governors. 
12:35ish - This is not a trade association. Again, as reflected by their Board of Governors. We want to celebrate quality as a group of professionals. Diversity is key here. Be representative of the entire industry. 
14ish - Won’t duplicate things that already exist like meetups. Guide people to Gimlet Academy podcasts or Jesse Thorn’s show. 
17ish - Be representative of the industry unlike other organizations that got it wrong. So the Board of Governors - more than half will be women. 
21ish - There will be awards for true “one person shows” but they will also be eligible for the open categories (and the dream is for what happened with Parasite)
25ish - 6 open seats left but 3 have already been reached out to. The goal is to have 9 people who work for companies and 8 that are indie. But their definition of indie is someone who literally doesn’t work for any big company currently.
29ish - Open to a poll for the best indies to be on the board. But he says it will be hard to find someone that ticks all the boxes. 
34ish - Hernan admits that without the criticism that arose, he’s not sure he would have considered putting as much representation of indie podcasters as there will be now. 
53 - The first awards, for simplicity, has to be timed around an industry event to have enough people there (this is clearly a nod to Podcast Movement - but it’s not determined yet)
