For many Actors in Kenya, the Kenya Cultural Center previously Kenya National Theatre is the root their success and for Johnson Gitau Chege aka General Theodore this was the place that would make him known.

Born in Mombasa, Kongowea Fish as many call him found himself relocating to Kikuyu after his father’s job came to an end in one of the beverages company. Straight from his secondary education he joined National theatre with his first play Merchant of Venice and Kifo Kisimani a setbook performance to highschool students.

According to Theodore Acting made him grow his speech as he would stammer Alot but when acting which he defines as being someone else this would change the situation.

Over the years he has featured in many stage plays, tv shows including Kina, Country Queen and auntie boss as well as a supporting character in the award wining Supa modo and Nairobi Half life. He was also a panelist at the trend show previously hosted by Larry Madowo.
