Andrew McQualter, dad of 3 young girls and the recently appointed head coach of the Richmond Football Club sat down with us and opened up about what life was like going through the cancer diagnosis of his first born daughter at just 8 weeks old. He describes the moment he found out about the cancer diagnosis for his newborn, his coping mechanisms plus the feeling of anxiety going into ultrasounds for his future children.

This was all going on back in 2017 around the time the Richmond Football club were going through finals and ended up winning the Grand Final for the first time in 40 years. He made the decision to keep the information quiet from the club and chats about why he broke down in tears when they won the preliminary final taking them through to the Grand Final.

Andrew also chats about how life has changed from an Assistant coach at Richmond to Head coach all within 24 hours, with a call from former head coach Dimma one day, to being appointed Head Coach the next... he also touches on his imposter syndrome
