At the same time, traditional indoor burning of solid fuels such as coal and dung presents acute, severe exposures to pollutants including particulate matter, carbon monoxide, arsenic, and mercury. It would be nearly impossible using current methods to test all the chemicals in use for toxic effects. So how do we prioritize which ones to study?
