This week, Kate starts by sharing the shows she’s been watching (Bad Sisters, Shrinking, Pamela: A Love Story, discusses her enthusiasm toward the redemption of victims of 90s misogyny, then reviews the social media ads she can’t get away from, and her love/hate relationship with custom songs people commission for Valentine’s Day off of Tiktok ads. She then discusses some thoughts on religious deconstruction and then goes into an interview with Heather Gay, Real Housewife of Salt Lake City and author of Bad Mormon (out February 7). They talk about her experiences being raised in the LDS church, marrying into “Mormon royalty,” what it was like getting married young, having professional accomplishments overlooked, the challenge of living a life that guarantees you’ll still be oppressed in the afterlife, among other things, like having a dad that franchised an Arby’s.
