Multiple studies have shown that moderate exercise is beneficial for the immune system, especially for the elderly and those with chronic diseases. This is a fairly common and widely-accepted understanding. However, there is another school of thought warning that too much exercise can actually decrease immune system function and increase risk of infections. In a time where many of us are looking to boost our immune system, could too much (i.e. strenuous) exercise actually be doing more harm than good? Dr. Latt Mansor (Research Lead at H.V.M.N.) dives into a recent paper that explores this very question, in which two groups of scientists debate the impact of exercise has on immunity.
