Ashley had a tough time with some work stuff this week that got her thinking about those times in grade school when you got called on in class and weren’t ready to answer. Naz swears it’s all about that lack of sleep, which she says is even more important to her than water. Ashley updates us on the sleep situation with Dawson. She’s deep in the sleep training debate, and she breaks down the various perspectives on it. On the one hand, some people say letting your baby cry at night is going to leave them feeling abandoned. Others think that quality sleep for you and your baby are necessary to be a functioning family together. It’s a tough conversation with a lot of nuance, and it leads to some bigger questions about motherhood in general. Lauren and Naz wonder if they’d be able to give up the more comfortable parts of their lives. Lauren thinks maybe she’s just too set in her ways. Naz says she’s okay with the idea of being a mom in her 40s, so she’s not in a huge hurry. This leads to talk about childhood, in general, and Ashley and Naz share two of the most embarrassing moments from elementary school. And of course, you can’t talk about elementary school without talking about Lisa Frank. Naz thinks she should have a museum. And now we’re on a mission to get her on the podcast. To close things out, Lauren wants everyone to stop pretending like every dead person was a perfect angel when they were alive. Let’s just be real. Not everyone's smile lights up a room. And that's okay.
