Nursing Myths The good, bad, and the ugly... Nursing is a profession that has been around for a long time. That often means that there are certain things that are out there in the public (and in the profession of nursing too, really) eye that are untrue about nursing. One myth that always comes to my mind when I think about things untrue about nursing is that stereotypical "risque nurse" Halloween costume we as nurses have grown to dislike, dare to say "hate". As nurses, we take our jobs seriously. A nursing career is a professional one- a job that we have studied long and hard for, spent countless hours, and even lost a bit of blood, sweat, and tears in. Nursing is no joke. That is why we can feel upset, even offended, when certain nursing myths bubble up over time. Today's podcast will cover: At least three nursing myths that are untrue to nursing, Strategies for overcoming these nursing myths, And a bit of conversation from nursing colleagues around the untruths of nursing.
