The size of the self-care market has reached 750Bn$. It was negligible 2 generations back and look how massively it has grown. 
Our grandparents associated self care with basic hygiene and good food while we look for extensive routines and special products. 
Another term doing the rounds is Self Love which we associate with talking ourselves out for means etc. 
But the real meaning of both these terms is prioritizing oneself and looking after oneself by developing good habits. They keep us healthy and happy.
