Today, I’m talking about the topic I usually get the most pushback from on social media – Halloween. Although Halloween typically brings around candy and costumes, it can raise many questions for Christians. Should we allow our kids to dress up? Should we hand out candy?  On this episode of Fearless, I share my family’s perspective—and what my grandmother, Ruth Bell Graham, thought about the holiday.

We live in a society that tells us that selfishness and self-centeredness are okay so that we can be happy, successful, and feel important. But, the world is full of foolish, evil, and demonic wisdom. 

We need to be cautious of what we are looking to and where we are looking for truth and guidance. 

This all goes back to knowing what you believe and why you believe it. We will never be enough and find true fulfillment if we aren’t relying on godly wisdom and truth. If you are acting with humility and seeking Heavenly discernment, the lies of this world will have a harder time taking hold on your heart.

My husband I were having a discussion the other day and I heard myself saying, “I deserve.” That’s a phrase I don’t even let my kids use, and here I was disagreeing with Corey saying, “I deserve better.” We seem to live in a world and society that is full of entitlement. We have the participation trophy generation that was always told they couldn’t lose and the social media natives that are constantly comparing people’s perfectly curated lives to their own. How do we teach our kids to overcome this attitude and that life isn’t always fair?
