Today, we go into the work of Alexander Furman - writer of Halo: Defiance - and examine the missteps, potential goals, and future of his work. Halo: Defiance is a non-canon fanfiction, but it goes much deeper than just being fanfiction. We will address all the issues and give a final verdict on whether this novel is worth a Halo fan's time. No ill will is given towards Mr. Furman, and we understand why he would do the things he did, but there are important aspects of this novel's existence that need addressing. We intend to hold our critique (no matter how intense it becomes) to the novel itself and not the writer.
