We don’t have many natural ways to meet new people. We get set in our ways and get busy with kids and work and errands. If you want to have more friends—or better friendships—you’re going to have to decide to make time for it. Here are four practical actions you can take to get started!   How to Make Time for Friends In today’s interview, I get to sit down with two of my real-life best friends! Through all of life’s ups and downs and changes and challenges, we’ve managed to make time for each other. No—it’s not always easy to coordinate calendars. But it’s worth it. We’ll share some of secrets that have helped us maintain our friendship for almost two decades.   What Do Your Friendships Look Like? “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor. If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up! Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” Ecclesiastes 4:9–12 (NIV)   We weren’t created to live alone. We need community. I want you to have people who will be there for you—people you can laugh and cry with, share the bad things with, and celebrate your milestones with. To start making some practical changes in the area of friendship, spend some time journaling your thoughts to these questions:  What are you looking for in friendships right now? What specific types of friendships do you desire this year? What’s one step you can take to grow your friendships this year?
