There’s so much war going on, and then there’s earthquakes and tsunamis and all these other things happening in our world. It can make us feel so overwhelmed and stressed out. Do you know why it’s overwhelming? It's because we feel like it’s happening to us. We have this skill in empathy that we can feel what other people are feeling. When we see people suffering we feel like it's us. Sometimes we get so frozen in this fear and overwhelm that it holds us back from doing things that could help the situations out in the world. We get so stuck being overwhelmed by all the trauma that we’re frozen in our lives. So then, we’re not happy and we’re not helping anybody. It’s like a lose-lose situation. When we’re frozen in our trauma and fear, we’re no good to anybody. You have some things to help the world and I have some things to help the world. We don’t want all that fear and stress to overwhelm us so we can’t shine through and make the world a better place. Today I talk about how I deal with trauma and how it may help you deal with it, too. If you can take a step back and see everything symbolically, then maybe you can take steps to educate yourself and think about what you can do to make changes towards peace in the world.
