In this episode, we cover the arrival of Vashtorr, the new Boarding Patrols boxes, Arks of Omen three and four, the accidental Dante deployment, and the full Adepticon 40K preview, including the biggest announcement: the oft-rumored and now-confirmed 10th Edition of Warhammer 40,000. We pick through all the details (as of recording time) and try to build as much a picture of the future as we can, all trying to answer two questions. First, will this address the issues facing the game, and second, can they pull it off? All this, our hobby progress, and a tiny-yet-epic Morale Phase!

We’re also joined by Daniel, one of the judges, to hear about the competitive side of the convention. Then, in part two, Dennis and Kevin continue their narrative coverage with their experiences at the Dallas Open narrative event. Episode 300: The Midwest Conquest/Dallas Open Extravaganza


It’s time for the second half of the double-codex release review, and this time, we’ve traded Richard for Dennis as we trade Orks for Custodes! The Emperor’s golden guard are here with their new 10th edition codex, and it’s definitely had… a reception by the community, that’s for sure. No need to be coy – this book is definitely weaker than the index that preceded it. But how exactly did that happen? What about this book makes it less powerful? Is this a sign of a larger trend in codex de-powering? And did we end up asking for it? Also, we address the biggest controversy to hit 40K in recent memory. Oh, and that other one, too.

Episode 298: 10th Edition Orks


Sometimes, you want a break from matched play, or you just want to tell a neat story with your miniatures, and that’s where narrative play comes in! In this episode, we discuss the ins and outs of Crusade, the narrative system that Games Workshop introduced with 9th edition and continues to support into 10th. We delve into how it works, what we like about it, and what we don’t like as much, and some alternative narrative systems you might consider as well. Also, we discuss the Adepticon 2024 reveals, including the Chaos Space Marine codex and boxes, the new Kill Team box, and whether or not GW might be spreading themselves too thin.

Episode 297: Crusade and Narrative 40K


The Kroot are on the hunt, and we get the spoils! In this episode, we review the new Kroot Hunting Pack army box and the new T’au Empire codex that’s included inside.
