Whoosh, what a week! Taylor Swift's American fans are freaking out about the MCG's lack of car park, Beyoncé has made history on the country charts, and we are put in our place with Dan Akroyd's musical chops.

The new Spider-verse film has opened, and the coverage around Madame Web has been ferocious. Quotes taken out of context, conspiracy theories hatched... the narrative around the press tour has subsumed reviews of the film itself. It speaks to a larger discourse around movies these days, where the internal worlds of production take over meaningful critique of the film itself, and all in the name of clickbait. Oh, we go in.

Elsewhere, lawn mowing is viral, the bush is back (again) and big hair's return says more than just hairspray sales. And awards season continues with the BAFTA's which means FARSHUN.

Speaking of which, we're banging on about Apple TV +'s new Christian Dior series The New Look, and a brilliant novel The Bee Sting.
