Navigating the Complexities of Abortion: A Journey Through Mixed Messages, Tribalism, and Critical Thinking

I learned about abortion through my experience of growing up in a Catholic society in New Orleans and listening to the conversations around me. Abortion is a complex issue that should be approached with an open mind and an open heart. People must be cautious of making assumptions and oversimplifying the issue, as well as falling into the "tribalism" of choosing one side or the other. It is important to explore all options without feeling pressure or shame and become your own authority figure. Cancel culture and media can lead to a heightened sense of fear and shame when discussing controversial topics, and it is important to be aware of psychological manipulation. It is important to evaluate what has been taught to us and make decisions based on our own mental health.

"We need to be able to evaluate things from our minds, our hearts, our intuitions. We need to be able to listen to people, share their stories and listen from all of those parts with discernment."
