In his Diffusion article from the September/October issue of The Hematologist, Dr. Adam Cuker (Penn-CHOP Blood Center for Patient Care and Discovery, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA) discusses the BRIDGE study, which was led by Dr. Thomas Ortel (Duke University Medical Center, Durham, NC). Dr. Cuker concludes that, while more data are needed, there may be high-risk patients or procedures for which bridging is appropriate, which were not originally covered in the study. In this podcast, Drs. Cuker and Ortel thoroughly discuss the design, outcomes, and limitations of the BRIDGE study and explore how its results may inform clinical practice and treatment of atrial fibrillation and other disorders.
