Veteran Pollster Scott Rasmussen says the race for the 2024 Republican Presidential Nominee is “over” after Trump excelled polling, winning the Iowa Caucus by over 30 points from the second place, Governor Ron DeSantis. Rasmussen says “the race is over, you know, barring something cataclysmic health-wise or something that we can't imagine.” Remarking, from the results last night, “not only was it that, the former President topped 50%, but there was no clear second place, you know, if it had been Trump 40%, DeSantis 30%, Haley 20%, then I could say maybe something's going on here. But there was there's no clear second choice and a majority for the former president is huge.”

Harvard Law School Professor Emeritus Alan Dershowitz slammed Democrats over the Trump hush money trial, saying New York District Attorney Alvin Bragg “made up a crime out of whole cloth” to bring a case against former President Donald Trump. He cautioned that “the real loser is the American public” because of the precedent set by this case, and predicted that the judge would sentence Trump to time in prison, but would suspend the sentence instead of actually sending the former president to jail. Dershowitz also gave his perspective on Trump’s chances on appeal, saying the Supreme Court would probably not get the case until after the 2024 election, but they would most likely reverse the conviction.

Speaking just hours before former President Trump was found guilty in the New York hush money trial, former federal prosecutor Kash Patel slammed Democrats for their handling of the trial. “They know they’re gonna lose an appeal,” Patel said, “but appeal is two years away and the election is four months away.” He further called the trial a “distraction” from the Biden family’s own legal woes. Patel also slammed FBI leadership for turning it into “an abysmal law enforcement agency,” but expressed optimism that the bureau could be fixed.
