Therapeutic Class antiemetic, antihistamine, sedative/hypnotic Pharmacologic Class phenothiazine Nursing Considerations • IV administration may cause damage to tissue, hypertension, impaired liver function • monitor for neuroleptic malignant syndrome, confusion, sedation • may cause CNS depression • assess sedation level and anticholinergic effects
