Jason Maxwell, AKA J Max Fitness in the house for Round 2 of The Adonyx Podcast. He breaks down how his Instagram content is so easy to understand yet powerful, why he loves float tanks, meditation, and ways you can start lucid dreaming. The guys also talk about sleep — how much they get, how they get it, and why it’s important.   Key Takeaways: [3:26] JMax keeps his Instagram, @JMax, super easy to read with tips and tricks people can start implementing right away for massive results. He keeps it updated daily and posts information from all over the spectrum of fitness that all levels can learn from. [5:50] Check out Connor’s Instagram for a video of him and @britthertz covering all bases of a post that should go viral (hot girl, shirtless dude with muscles, crazy flips). Be sure to tag your friends. [7:50] If you want to lose fat, you have to be in the deficit either by eating less, or burning more calories. Cardio does have some benefits; it can be boring and time-consuming whereas it takes less effort to put yourself in a deficit by eating less. [13:29] Wingate sprints are one of the best ways to burn fat, maximize high-intensity cardio and create some major leg gains. [18:54] Both Connor and JMax love the Float Tank experience. The sensory deprivation aspect makes it easy to meditate, let your brain settle and be stimulation-free for a small amount of time. [25:51] JMax also has seen some major benefits from meditating and aims to do it at least 10 minutes every day. [28:59] Sleep is pretty much everything. We need it, and we are pretty messed up without it even for just a few days. Connor finds 8 hours of sleep a day, even if it’s naps for 30-90 minutes. [32:33] Sleep cycles are made up of deep sleep, REM and light sleep. We need deep sleep to rest and relax and REM to have good memory and recall, and to stay sharp and focused. [35:02] Two side effects Connor notices when he doesn’t get enough sleep are water retention, and feeling way hungrier. [50:24] Lucid dreaming hack: In your waking life, when you turn on and off the lights, ask yourself if you are dreaming and you will start to do the same in your sleep, leading to the ability to lucid dream.   Mentioned in This Episode: Connor Murphy Talks YouTube page: @ConnorMurphyTalks Brandon’s YouTube page: @HighLifeWorkOut @KingKeto — Brandon Carter on Instagram @ConnorMurphyOfficial @JMax — send him a DM and let him know you listened!
