On this episode of They Walk Among America… In the 1990s, life in Port St. John was placid; on Sundays, the local radio only played gospel tunes, and in the evenings, residents sat outside their homes under the humid heat and chatted with their neighbours while children raced through the streets on their bicycles. Serious crimes in Port St. John were very rare, but on January 6th, 1999, a crime sent shockwaves throughout the close-knit community. Frieda LeBouf was at home when she heard a frantic knock on her front door. She opened the door to find her neighbour’s two young children, who exclaimed that a tragic accident had happened at the family home…
