On August 9, 2022, 27 year old Pfc. Denisha Montgomery Smith was found dead inside Army barracks where she was stationed in Germany. 3 weeks before she was found, she reported  that she had been assaulted by fellow soldiers. The Army did not investigate her claims and when she was found dead 21 days later, they ruled her death a suicide.  But her family believes she was murdered.

In March 2014, 8 year old Relisha Rudd disappeared from Washington, D.C. At the time she was living in a shelter with her mother and 3 brothers. After her mother befriends a janitor who she allowed Relisha to spend time with, the 8 year old vanishes. 10 years later, Relisha is still missing.
