I was deeply hurt by two mothers when I was young, my biological mother who left when I was twelve, and my stepmother who came into the picture shortly after. Both of these mother wounds shaped the way I began my parenting journey and set me on a path that would have been similar for my children. But it was this that led me to find connected parenting and I was able to change the way I parent and in turn, limit the mother wounds for my kids. If we want to prevent these mother wounds then we have to do the deep transformative work in our parenting.
