Yvonne Menke was heading to warm up her car outside her apartment in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin on December 12, 1985 when she was fatally shot 3 times. While her daughter witnessed a suspect jogging away, there wasn’t enough evidence to tie the main suspect, her boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend Mary Jo Lunsmann, to the murder. 38 years later, an arrest was made, and that suspect, now 80 years old, is currently awaiting trial.

In February 2010, the 4 members of the McStay family - Joseph, Summer, Gianni, and Joseph Jr. - disappeared from their home in Fallbrook, CA. For the next several years, many believed they were voluntarily missing, but their family was sure they had met with foul play. When their bodies were found in November 2013, investigators revisited some suspects they initially talked to, but the man they ended up charging with the murders maintains his innocence to this day.

While no one has ever been charged in the case, one suspect who directly lead police to the last victim’s body is believed to be the killer. She had been at odds with her family and hanging around an unsavory group of teenagers at the time of her disappearance.
