We haven’t really discussed the Philippines and General MacArthur’s area of responsibility, so it’s time to make that correction to the narrative.  First, we will look at the Philippines and General Douglas MacArthur. You might be surprised to learn he wasn’t all that popular with his men in early 1942 and we will discuss the reason why. Then, in the next episode, we will move on and discuss the British in Southeast Asia, specifically Singapore and Malaya.
