Inspired to fight poverty in the Bay Area, Goldman School of Public Policy Alumnus Daniel Lurie (MPP ‘05) founded Tipping Point in 2005. Since then, Tipping Point has raised more than $200 million to educate, employ, house and support those in need in the Bay Area. In the last year alone, the organization has helped put 21,000 people on a path out of poverty through a combination of grantmaking, grantee support, corporate philanthropy, policy and research.
