Captain Michelle Jílek is active duty in USAF and partially embedded with fighter squadrons. She specializes in G induced  injuries in the spine.



I take care of fighter pilots who have spinal injuries from sustaining high Gs in aircraft. I am there for them before and after flights and help with preventative care. I have specially designed strengthening programs just for them that I have developed.

Pioneering Physical Therapy: A Conversation with Stanley Paris

In this episode, Spencer Blackman explains how he uses symbolic sensations to retrain the brain's interpretation of pain signals. ﻿He explains how the lower primitive parts of our brain can get stuck in threat response loops after injuries, keeping muscles tense and nerves firing years after tissues have healed. We discuss how finding the symbolic sensation of what the brain is trying to do in that area, like "pulling away" or "squishing", and solving for that can abruptly shift chronic pain patterns. Spencer shares how this method can provide lasting pain relief by updating the brain's conceptual map and response to those signals.

Ryan Eder details his background in product design and how it led him to healthcare. He discusses the founding of IncludeHealth and their initial focus on smart rehab machines, before transitioning to using computer vision and digital therapy plans to guide patients through personalized at-home exercise routines. Their technology provides real-time feedback, tracks range of motion, and generates data for physical therapists with the goal of making physical therapy more accessible. Ryan explains how they now directly treat patients using their digital platform and computer vision technology in value-based care models.
