When was the last time you prayed a rosary? Whether it’s been a day, a week, or many years, there’s no better time than NOW to pray one! We usually talk about God on this show, today we’re going to talk TO Him!
If you aren’t familiar, the rosary is an ancient prayer based in scripture. The Hail Mary and the Our Father are taken straight from the Gospels.These well-known prayers function as a background to meditate upon mysteries that are based on the life of Christ, taken from scripture.
 To help keep you even more focused on the beautiful mysteries in the rosary, I’m going to read a bit of scripture between each Hail Mary using the Rosary app. If you’ve never prayed the rosary this way before, it’s a fun and new way to explore this ancient practice!
 Today we are praying the Joyful Mysteries of the rosary, which are commonly prayed on Monday and Saturday. The other mysteries are the Sorrowful Mysteries (Tuesday and Friday), the Glorious Mysteries (Wednesday and Saturday) and the Luminous Mysteries (Thursday).

Pray With Me! Scriptural Rosary | Joyful Mysteries

I usually don’t jump into cultural commentary, but this one’s worth talking about. First of all because it’s probably the most talked about, specifically Catholic graduation speech in my lifetime. The things he gets right are spot on. The things he gets wrong are way off. Both provide a teaching moment that we need to pay attention to.
 
 Note: While my critique of some of his points is important, the cultural context (and arguably more important issue) is this: Harrison Butker had the courage to speak his mind on important issues. THIS is lacking today. We need to learn from THAT. And we need to stand against all efforts to cancel/dox/shove people out of existence who do that. Or we’re next.

Next, we talk about what to do when you witness to friends and family and they say “Eh, I’m good.” And finally, we’ll round it out with my thoughts on O.J. Simpson, because if you’re in my generation, EVERYONE remembers watching the Ford Bronco car chase the subsequent trial.

Scrupulosity: When Piety Becomes an Affliction ❤️

I can’t wait for you guys to meet my guest this week! Fr. Augustine Wetta is a great friend and his joy and love for the Lord are just contagious. He is a Benedictine monk, lover of obscure saints, and author of Pray. Think. Act. Make Better Decisions with the Desert Fathers. He’s also living with early onset parkenson’s…which makes his contageous joy that much more inspiring.
 Today, we talk about some of Fr. Augustine’s favorite saints (did you know there’s a Patron saint of “unattractive people”?), his love of the Desert Fathers, who nicknamed themselves the Athletae Dei, “the Athletes of God,” how to make and stick with big life decisions, and how to stay the course in your vocation when life gets tough.
