I get a lot of this in my DMs: “Hey Sarah! I’m really excited to be getting my business off the ground, but I have no idea where to start! I’m so overwhelmed! Can you help point me in the right direction? Or… any direction?” Starting your first business can be overwhelming because there are so many things that need to get done, and probably even more that you haven’t thought of yet! Where do you focus? What do you save for later? Were the three hours you spent debating between fonts for your webpage really worth it? (Probably not, y’all.) This episode is for you! And it’s also for you business owners who are looking ahead and trying to figure out where to grow and how to move your business forward. In this episode, I talk about inertia, procrastination, and clarity. I point out the most common places I see people wasting their energy, and remind business owners what their three concrete jobs are. I break down how to think about the money you make in relation to the offers you create, and invite you to answer some specific, clarifying questions about your business. Ultimately, I want you walking away from this episode with a strong idea of what results you get from the tasks you do, so that you easily know what to prioritize, what to delegate, and what not to bother with. Join us this week to refocus and get the most out of your time and energy as a business owner. SHOW NOTES 00:57– Inertia and the top newbie mistake. 5:36– Clarity: Your primary focus when starting or growing a business. 9:13– Your main jobs as a business owner 14:51– Re-thinking the tasks that make up your work week.
