If you are in the fitness community, chances are you know who Austin Dunham is. He talks about his secret to his massive success on YouTube, how he is crushing the world calisthenics, and some serious YouTube drama over some claims of copying, clout chasing, and gains. He also talks about how he learns to do all his crazy moves and explains why calisthenics is so crucial to have as a skill set.   Key Takeaways: [2:59] Connor spills the tea right off the bat about Cassady Campbell, where they are basically playing a game of prank chicken to see who will break first. He thinks Connor is apologizing, but really Connor is on to him and isn’t going to go down that easy. [7:11] Austin was also on the fitness cruise, and even when he is having fun and on location at a beautiful place, he is still consistent about filming and releasing videos. [12:02] Austin shares his side of some YouTube drama going down in his world right now between him and another influencer. [15:59] In the video of Austin meeting Gabo of Saturno Movement, we see some back and forth that ended up kicking off some major drama. [20:11] Imitation is a form of flattery, so as YouTubers, both Austin and Connor don’t freak out when they see others copying them, for the most part. As long as you are unique and totally yourself, you’ll have a niche of your own. [22:49] When you make the news, that’s how you know you’ve probably screwed up, but also now you have clout. [24:13] Connor made a lot of his initial gain just doing straight up calisthenics, and Austin started in September of 2014. He was a freshman at college as part of the ROTC program and came across calisthenics videos as he was looking to better his strength and physique. He dove deep into it and kickstarted his own YouTube channel. [26:14] Calisthenics is progressive, and once you graduate from the basic moves you can always graduate to something more challenging and demanding. While weightlifting works in the limited range of motion, calisthenics deals with balance and coordination, and a whole bunch of other factors. [31:04] Connor gives Austin some video location ideas for some crazy videos in the future. If he gets any hate, he will just blame it on Connor.   Mentioned in This Episode: Connor Murphy Talks YouTube page: @ConnorMurphyTalks Brandon’s YouTube page: @HighLifeWorkOut @KingKeto — Brandon Carter on Instagram @ConnorMurphyOfficial Adonyx Coaching Adonyx Clothing Calisthenics Meets Aesthetics Austin Dunham Brittany Dawn @austin_dunham
