The Prophet, peace be upon him, had chosen Mus'ab r.a to become the 'ambassador' of Islam to Yathrib, which is now Medina City. His job was to teach a small group of believers who had come to pledge allegiance to Islam and to prepare the city for the great migration of the Muslims from Mecca to Yathrib.
