The Prophet, peace be upon him, had chosen Mus'ab r.a to become the 'ambassador' of Islam to Yathrib, which is now Medina City. His job was to teach a small group of believers who had come to pledge allegiance to Islam and to prepare the city for the great migration of the Muslims from Mecca to Yathrib. This is called the great Hijrah. Why was Mus'ab r.a chosen for this role when others were older than him and some were closer to the Prophet by blood line?
