This morning we discuss what appears to be a discrepancy in our Torah portion, Bamidbor: is the name Eliasaf ben De'u'el or Eliasaf ben Re'u'el? We present the solution of Rabbi Chaim Azoulay that one is an honorific, earned when he had a reason to complain and protest, but did not. And we present a modern example of this in the life of Rabbi Chizkiyahu Medini, author of Sdei Chemed, who after a similar event in his life, went on to create one of the greatest works on Talmudic Law, with no library, no colleagues, and no resources - all through superhuman memory and intellectual prowess. And he told his family that before this incident, he had only an ordinary memory and a mediocre intelligence!
