Come Towards Delight

12. Trisha ON: Holding on to Hope through darkness. Divorce and feeling betrayed by a Spouse's Pornography addiction and extramarital choices. Trusting God. Finding your value and your Team.

Listen Later

After serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Trisha thought she was living the ideal life. She was a student at BYU, and dating a faithful man of her dreams who she loved very much. They were married in the Temple and had 3 children with the whole world in front of them. After a few short years of Marriage and 3 children, without any warning Trisha was shocked to learn her Husband was battling a heavy Pornography Addiction, and that he had made extramarital choices. Shell-shocked, confused, and sad Trisha talks about being in a place so heavy and dark she couldn't even get out of bed in the morning. Being a fighter that she is she gave her spouse opportunities to change, and rebuild trust but after multiple broken promises Trisha realized that she needed to move forward with her life for her sake and especially the sake of her daughters. She learned some valuable lessons through all of the darkness she and her family faced and she shares those lessons with us in such a sincere way. Trust in God, He wants to help you and knows how to perfectly. Find your Team, by being vulnerable and opening up, and hold onto them. Hold onto Hope and never stop believing, because you are worth it!
Today, Trisha is happy remarried to "an incredible man" and after all of the tragedy and darkness that she has faced, she is truly happy and wants nothing more than to help others realize their worth, the importance of finding your Team, and never giving up.
