In 1922, a farmer conspires to murder his wife for financial gain, convincing his teenage son to participate. The film is based on the novella by horror writer, Stephen King. Wilfred James (Thomas Jane) is a grumpy farmer who refuses to give up his life living on the farm with his wife, Arlette (Molly Parker), and son, Henry (Dylan Schmid). His wife proposes that they sell their land and move into the city for a better, and frankly, less harsh life. However, Wilfred thinks city living is for "fools" and works his son to hatch a plot to kill Arlette to preserve his way of living. He succeeds in his plans but is haunted by the memories of his murdered wife via rats and visions of her. This is a Netflix Original film and is currently streaming on that service.
