A new era of Arizona State Sun Devils football means a new offensive philosophy and thus new ways to use the weapons at the offense's disposal. In our series previewing camp battles across positions way too early, we look to the running back room, which may have the least experience of any other position on the roster, let alone the offense. Leading the charge will be Sacramento State transfer Cameron Skattebo, who had more carries in 2022 than the rest of the guys on the Sun Devils roster have career touches combined. This will give Skattebo an early edge in the race, but the transition from Big-Sky football to PAC-12 football should not be overlooked. Meanwhile, another transfer and local kid, DeCarlos Brooks will look to make a name for himself in his home state, while red-shirt freshman and incoming freshman Tevin White and Kyson Brown respectively will try to make impacts in their young careers. George Hart will be trying to break out in year three, and wide receiver convert Javen Jacobs should have your full attention.
