The NHL offseason is officially upon us! Monday night, we had the NHL Awards. Wednesday night is Night 1 of the NHL Draft. GMs are doing their final scouting and interviews with players, heading into Wednesday night. Connor Bedard is the consensus Number 1 overall, so the question is, who goes after him? Adam Fantilli expects to go to the Anaheim Ducks at No. 2, but rumors are swirling that Leo Carlsson could be taken at 2. Who will the Philadelphia Flyers end up with? There could be a bunch of surprises incoming via trades as teams are looking to wheel and deal to improve their rosters and obtain more draft capital. There is always a lot of fun and surprises in the NHL Draft. There are typically a lot of mock drafts done in all professional sports. For many fans, it's just out of fun and very entertaining to see what other writers or media people think. Well, this is no different, as the Hockey Happy Hour guys will break out their Top 10 Mock Drafts heading into the NHL Draft. The Philadelphia Flyers have been very active as of late, with multiple trade rumors swirling. Over the last week, the Flyers had two trades in place, only to have both fall-through. Joining Hayes was Defenseman Travis Sanheim in return for Blues Defenseman Torrey Krug as the main piece. Due to his full no-trade clause, Krug declined the trade because he did not want to play in Philadelphia. However, the Flyers and Blues reworked a deal that sends just Hayes to St. Louis for a 2024 sixth-round pick. As part of the deal, the Flyers will retain 50% of Hayes' $7.142 million cap hit. The other rumored move was Tony DeAngleo being traded back to the Carolina Hurricanes. This one is being vetoed by the NHL because the league believes the Hurricanes are circumventing the salary cap. The league and teams will meet and discuss the trade over Draft Week. They may have to wait until July 9th to get the deal done. If this trade does not happen, what else could Danny Briere have up his sleeve?
