Khutbah in Perth 5th May 2023
21st Century Trials and Tribulations part 8
RAND CORPORATION & TYPES OF MUSLIMS:
In part 1 of the series, I very briefly covered this, just to give you an idea.
In today’s khutbah, we will look at in in bit more detail + see how some of the points they highlighted can be addressed / resolved Biidhnillahi Ta’ala.
Basically it is a Think-Tank organisation and their analytical reports are used by Government authorities etc.
In early 2000s they came out with a document titled “Civil democratic Islam, partners, resources, and strategies”.

FEW HIGHLIGHTS FROM THEIR CONTENTS
REVIEWING THEIR SUMMARY
So as Muslims, how do we address this, how do we respond to these kind of planning, plotting and strategies etc... In some (if not many) cases, we might already be late, but still we can’t give up. We still need to make ourselves aware of such things (including their current / updated planning, plotting and strategies etc) and do what we can to the best of our abilties to address / resolve them Insha Allah.
Let us begin by reminding ourselves that Allah SWT commanded us in the Quran to obey Allah and obey the Messenger.
FUNDAMENTALISTS: Let us talk about Fundamentalists first as they seem to have major concerns about them.
TRADITIONALISTS: Their next concern is the Traditionalist Muslims and by that they mean the Hanafis, Shafis, Malikees and Humbalis. They want to create issues between us, want to divide us, keep us divided and so on. So what can we do to keep ourselves UNITED?
MODERNISTS AND SECULARISTS: As we have seen, they want to support and uplift the Modernists and the Secularists, so let us remind or advice those amongst US who consider themselves Modernists and the Secularists.
What good is it (akhirah point of view) if we find ourselves in the wrong camp on the day of judgement – OOPS how did I get here. But that would be too late. Therefore let us learn or remind ourselves about Al Wala wal Bara from few different angles Biidhnillahi Ta’ala.
