We’ve all heard the saying your brain is like a muscle. But what does that truly mean? Basically, the more we use it, the stronger it gets. We can apply this same theory to retrieval practice, which is when we give students an opportunity to access information they previously learned from their long-term memory. Every time students access this information it becomes easier to retrieve in the future.
