When I was in my twenties, I went to Diamond Head in Hawaii wearing thick-soled sandals. The lady at the information desk warned me about my shoes, but I didn't care. The other tourists around me were surprised to see my feet. The path was bumpy, but I made it up the mountain just fine. The next day, my muscles were almost completely free of soreness. It seems that my legs and back are very strong.
