Dwayne Thomas is a member of the NY State Bar association, graduating from Brooklyn Law and holds a Master's degree in Applied Positive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. He's also a writer, with a regular column at Psychology Today, in addition to his public speaking. His Master's thesis focused on improving the pass/fail rate of law students who "should" pass the exam, but aren't able to - specifically black men.
As we discuss in this episode, the stories we tell ourselves about the potential to succeed have a significant impact on performance. Those beliefs are seeded by our environment, and there are lessons far beyond a single test or a single population.
