Following Wednesday's lesson, "ROOTED, GROUNDED, & STABLISHED" (Colossians 2:7), Brother Singh encouraged our congregation tonight with Paul's exhortation: "We have this treasure {Jesus} in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed." (2 Corinthians 4:7-9). Serving the Lord does not offer a trouble-free life. Quite the opposite, but because of the hope in our hearts, we can handle life's hardships with maturity, dignity, and composure.
