My guest this week is Alicia McCalla.  She is an author of dark fantasy, paranormal horror and superheroes.  She's a strong activist in the movement to diversity Science Fiction and Fantasy. Also, she's a cosplayer and a contributing author to SLAY: Stories of the Vampire Noire.

We talk about how tragedy informed her writing.  Alicia also explains some of her writing mistakes and the different between art and commercial fiction. 
I also get a little nervous when we talk about some of what was once thought as science fiction as now reality.

Alicia also give more reasons to be excited about SLAY: Stories of the Vampire Noire with her story about vampire hunters influenced by African Mythology.
