One of my favorite Christmas carols is “Joy to the World.” The song begins with the reason for our hope and joy because Jesus is our hope and joy. “Joy to the world, the Lord is come!” But the next line of “Joy to the World” reminds me I have a part to play. “Let earth receive her King; Let every heart prepare Him room …” If I’m not careful, I’ll miss what matters most because only the wise make room in their hearts for Jesus.
