In my return episode following a brief health hiatus, I ask the question, "What if we didn't run away from ourselves?" The world talks about acceptance and self-acceptance, but what happens when we are moving through cycles of fear, deprivation, sadness, or loneliness? Very often, we are encouraged to call these things by a different name, to distract ourselves into new and more attractive feelings, or wear a mask to appease the outside world. What if we decided that our full range of human emotions and experiences were simply okay, expected, and not even that out of the ordinary? What if we decided that all of us was welcome here?
