As much as we want to believe the Arizona State Sun Devils football program will go 12-0 in the first year of the Kenny Dillingham era, we must also remember that this will be a learning curve for the first-time head coach and the 2023 season is unlikely to be all sunshine and rainbows. The Sun Devils will enter the season not only with a rookie head coach, but a coaching staff and roster full of brand new pieces. Could they all generate immediate success? Sure, but we shouldn't expect that to be the case. You also are facing one of the most difficult schedules in recent memory for Arizona State football, including USC, Utah, Oregon, and Washington, amongst many other quality programs. And at the end of the day, Rome wasn't built in a day and the Sun Devils have to understand that this will be a process to return to prominence.
