Welcome back to A Pod of Their Own, a show by the women of Amazin’ Avenue where we talk all things Mets, social justice issues in baseball, and normalize female voices in the sports podcasting space.
This week, we’re coming at you LIVE from Dollars for Dingers 2021! We chat a little bit about the Mets—which players might be in Queens next year and which players might not. We also talk about the vital work of the National Domestic Violence Hotline and how the Gabby Petito case underscores the need for awareness and advocacy.
At our in-person raffle event, we raised $750 to benefit the National Domestic Violence Hotline, bringing our total amount of money raised during our Dollars for Dingers 2021 effort to almost $9,000. A huge and heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out and supported us and to everyone who has pledged in our fundraiser. Congratulations to all of our prize winners!
You can listen or subscribe to all of our wonderful Amazin’ Avenue Audio podcasts through Apple Podcasts, where we encourage you to leave a review if you enjoy the show. It really helps! And you can find us on the Stitcher app, Spotify, or listen wherever you get podcasts.
You can follow A Pod of Their Own on Twitter (@apodoftheirown) and you can also follow all of our co-hosts on Twitter: Allison McCague (@PetitePhD), Maggie Wiggin (@maggie162), Linda Surovich (@LindaSurovich), and Kellyanne Healey (@ellarebee). You can also email the show at [email protected].
