Is the Apple Watch Ultra ready for long-distance running, including ultramarathons ? Here's iRunFar's in-depth review of Apple's top of the line smartwatch. You may have heard that the Apple Watch Ultra 2 released in September, 2023. The bad news? This isn’t a review of the Ultra 2 — yet, we'll review it in due time. The good news? The features and functionality of what is covered in this review are relevant to the Ultra 2. Mainly because most of the updates for the Ultra 2 are quality-of-life changes versus changes to running functions. The Ultra 2 introduces a new processor, some new gestures, a slightly brighter screen at maximum capacity, and a dimmer screen for nighttime interaction. WatchOS was moved up to version 10, but we’ll receive that update for this model and provide additional commentary on any significant changes that come with the new software.
