Rich Ensoll and Johan Hoving set off from Crosshaven Marina in Cork on July 1st, 2025, with the goal of becoming the first to canoe around the entire coastline of Ireland in a handmade, skin-on-frame canoe named “Ronan.” Their journey is not only a physical challenge but also a fundraising effort for Oxfam Ireland and the Kepplewray Trust’s Participation and Inclusion Fund, which supports outdoor activities for people of all abilities.
