A Democratic state senator is pushing an even longer moratorium. Governor Josh Shapiro still wants Pennsylvania in the data-center race, but with guardrails.
In Michigan, Governor Gretchen Whitmer is backing big AI data-center investment, while Rashida Tlaib is warning that residents may be steamrolled by fast-tracked projects, higher utility costs, water demands, and pollution concerns.
So what is this really about?
Speed versus consent.
Corporate power wants to move fast. Communities need time. And Congress has Article I power to slow the machine down, hold hearings, demand disclosure, and make every member choose.
